Best Taco Seasoning EVER!
Here it is folks…this is the BEST taco seasoning ever. I have tried every brand out there and nothing compares to what I’ve finally come up with! We have tacos here at least once a week. I mean who doesn’t LOVE tacos! Try this…I bet you never go back to the store bought taco seasoning again!
I make a lot of homemade spices and rubs so I have a lot of seasonings in large bulk containers which makes it cheaper to make 🙂
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 tbsp Chili Powder
- 6 tsp Cumin
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 1 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp dried Oregano
- 4 tsp Salt
- 4 tsp Pepper
OPTIONAL:
- 1/4-1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
- 4 tsp Corn Starch (this helps the spices cling to the meat and makes a thickened sauce)
- 4 tsp Beef bouillon granules, this gives it a meatier flavor. However, if using this cut the 4 tsp salt down to 2 tsp or it may be a little too salty (unless you like salty)
You can adjust this recipe however you want. My family loves garlic so I use more garlic powder and use garlic salt instead of regular salt. I’d love to use more Cayenne pepper but my kids don’t like a lot of spice like I do. I add enough water to make a thicker sauce.
2-3 tbsp of this mix is about the same as a packet of taco seasoning you’d buy at the store. Adjust the amount depending on how much flavor you like. I use extra because we like a stronger flavored meat. Store in an old spice jar or a mason jar (my favorite and I have a ton of them since I can in the summer…plus mason jars with spices just look pretty!)
